Each year we work with numerous public and private schools and local non-profit organizations who host our free seminars for teens and parents about college admissions and the ACT/SAT tests. If you would be interested in making this seminar available for the teens and parents you and your organization serve, please read on. Let me give you some background.
I am the founder of the Mary Alice Education Fund which supports: (1) free public service informational programs and materials for parents and students regarding college admissions and the SAT/ACT tests; (2) college admissions coaching; and (3) test prep and tutoring for students in Central Florida who cannot afford it otherwise. On a limited basis, we provide assistance through the Mary Alice Fund (see website menu) for students throughout the US.
The Mary Alice Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. We operate under the umbrella of the United Charitable Programs (Federal ID: 20-4286082). I am also a nationally recognized expert at improving SAT and ACT scores. (I have written a number of books, operate a widely acclaimed website, train teachers, offer web-based videos of SAT/ACT test-taking tips, and am the featured instructor on a DVD program, “Demystifying the SAT and ACT.”) My wife, Dr. Sharon Alexander, is acknowledged for her expertise as a college coach whose students have been admitted to highly ranked colleges and universities throughout the US. She has visited more than 50 top-tier colleges and especially enjoys working with under-served populations and serves on a College Board national advisory committee.
We support our philanthropic activities primarily through contributions made by parents whose teens participate in our SAT and ACT preparation and college advising programs here in central Florida. We also receive donations from local individuals and organizations. If you host an event, we will not be asking participants for a donation; your event is not a fund-raiser.
We are available to provide our free “College Application and SAT/ACT Tests” informational program for parents and high school students. Our objective is to demystify these tests and the college admissions process to assure families have current, accurate information about these important college issues. We encourage parents and teens in the 8th through 12th grades to participate. In the summers of 2010 and 2012, we traveled over 15,000 miles from coast to coast and border to border. We never know when we are going to be headed your way. We organize our itinerary based on requests.
We are in the process of identifying local organizations that wish to host and promote our seminar for the teens and families they serve. We are looking for places where teens and their parents/mentors could come together to learn what they need to do as they prepare for applying to colleges and universities.
The hosting agencies must dedicate time to invite people, promote the seminar, and provide meeting space.
