Our philosophy is that no student with academic promise should be denied test prep services due to a family’s ability to pay. We have received a significant donation from a philanthropist that allows us to provide our online video program at a substantially reduced fee. Our previous $50.00 per month fee has been reduced to $10.00 per month. If a student is participating in the federal free and reduced price meals program, the student is eligible to use our online video program for free. We simply ask to receive an email from a school staff member using an education agency email address verifying the student’s eligibility.
We would like to recognize and express our sincere appreciation to all of our donors. Most of our funds are raised by the voluntary contributions that are made by families with the means to do so. They have made them in return for our private college admissions coaching and test prep services. In addition, we have been supported by local community organizations such as the Rotary Club and individual philanthropists who believe in our cause. Without these individuals and organizations, the services we provide would not be possible. The Mary Alice Fund offers test prep and college admissions services for free or at reduced rates to students and schools (as well as non-profit organizations that serve teens).
At no charge to schools and non-profit organizations, we conduct free programs for the youth they serve (eighth grade through high school) and their families. Our most popular program is an evening session (approximately two hours) for families (both parents and students) to assist them with understanding the college application/admissions process, financial aid and the SAT and ACT college admissions tests. For fun, we include a few great test-taking tips and tricks!
We do not charge for our time or request to be reimbursed for travel expenses. We simply ask the hosting organization to:
- promote the seminar,
- provide a free meeting space, and
- duplicate the handout that will be distributed during the program.
Our itinerary for 2020 includes a road trip from our home in Fort Pierce, Florida north through GA, TN, KY, IN, and MI. From MI, we will head east to Boston and many points in between. The we’ll head south along the east coast to return home. We will be leaving here sometime in late August and returning home by mid-November.
